There was a time not too long ago- during the Tuscan craze- that faux finishing was everywhere. Every cabinet, wall and ceiling, it seemed, needed to be aged and distressed. But tastes have changed and homeowners have become much more discriminating, preferring just a touch of faux to the excess of days gone bye. Used with restraint, modern faux finishing is an excellent solution to an oh-so boring interior. A concrete-look feature wall, a metallic dining room ceiling, or even just a soft glaze can transform ordinary decor into the most talked about home in town.
